Hi to all!
My name is Tino Kokan, and to summarized short information’s about me:
33 year old, living in town of Split, Croatia, married and a future father of a baby-boy (in a less than a month), sport enthusiast, mechanical engineer by profession, and been battling with stuttering with occasions of catching fluency wagon since my sixth year.
In that past period of 27 years as a PWS I went trough a various speech therapies, read a lot of books and I can say for surely for a last 2 months of reading Lee’s book twice and for a month being “Stuttering plan member” on WSSA this is the best and a secure path to catching fluency wagon with permanent staying on it for a life.
I hope to have many chats with a lot of you here, and I hope some friends for a life.
With a best regards in fluency,
TinoNovember 24, 2021 at 8:50 pm #30721John KerrParticipantHello Tino,
Welcome to WSSA and you have come to the best place to overcome stuttering.
You should watch Lee’s video lessons and the coaching videos with PWS/PWSS. Since joining the program in August of 2020, I must have watched at least 100 coaching videos with the coaches & PWS. It’s really like having your own coaching session and you’ll find that a benefit.
Also, try to attend the SAM meetings and meet others on the program.Regards
John
ScotlandNovember 25, 2021 at 10:59 am #30722JavierModeratorHi Tino! I’m Javier, I live in Madrid (Spain), and I’m a PWSS and one of the Certified Speech Coaches of WSSA. I’m so glad to hear that you’re finding our program helpful.
Like John said, the videos of coaching sessions are pretty much like being coached by one of us. And you can use the filters to search the most appropiate ones for you.
Do watch the video lessons, they will help you too, as well as attending to some of the Crutch Practice sessions to practice them in groups of not more than 5 people. You will also learn a lot from the others.
The SAM meetings (now, on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month at 12h NY time) are also great: you can learn from other PWSS and how they stop stuttering, you can ask questions, and they are very motivational.
And finally, receiving private coaching will accelerate the process of becoming a PWSS and learning to love to speak in all venues.Keep us posted with your progress, and we look forward to seeing you at SAM or the Crutch Practice Sessions (BTW, John’s sessions are very popular, for example: https://worldstopstuttering.org/crutch-practice-group/)
December 1, 2021 at 5:10 pm #30740Tino KokanParticipantHi John and Javier,
thanks for the welcome and useful tips. Crutch practice group seems like a great thing I am currently on the Crutch Mastery Program and I am planning to come to practice group as soon as I complete Crutch program.
I am planning to attend next SAM meeting on 4th December. How do I calculate time, I see that all the meetings are scheduled at 12PM New York time and my time zone in Split Croatia, it is +6 hours from NY, does that mean that I need to connect at 18PM my time?Thank you for the help and best regards,
TinoDecember 2, 2021 at 7:49 am #30741JavierModeratorHi Tino,
Exactly. We’re in the time zone, as I am also 6h ahead of NY. So, yes, 12h NY time = 18h your time. To make sure, I always check it on google by typing “time difference NY Madrid”, or whatever city/state/country I want to check. You can do the same with your hometown, just to be sure.I hope you enjoy the Crutch Practice sessions and the Crutch Mastery Course!
Keep us posted with your progress.
